ARA Venn is delighted to a have recently provided support to the Freedom School in Nigeria, donating, and arranging the transportation of, a range of much-needed I.T. and computer equipment (Freedom School, Moniya, Ibadan).

This initiative was part of the firm’s ESG and 1-1-1 policy, whereby ARA Venn undertakes annually to allocate 1% of its profits and people’s time in support of community and charitable causes.

The Freedom School opened its doors in September 2000 and was set up to offer quality and affordable education to children in the expanding communities around Alase, Moniya – a semi-rural but developing community on the northern fringe of Ibadan city. In particular, the initiative was envisioned as a community development opportunity to support the many children in Alase living in poverty.

In two decades of its existence, this philosophy and approach has proven to be a success. It is now a thriving school, educating pupils in a nursery setting and at both primary and secondary levels and it is estimated that approximately two thousand children have attended the school and benefited from the opportunities on offer and are now contributing positively to society.

The school continues to seek ways to further equip the school, to enable a higher number of intakes, and to improve the quality of scholarship. Thus, the management of Freedom School would gladly welcome relationships and/or partnerships that have the potential to further develop the school.
